Describe the craftsmanship of your sculpture. (Is it neat and well executed?)
I felt the craftsmanship of my bread is fair, I could’ve been neater when painting it What was the most difficult part of this project? The most difficult part of making my bread was trying to paint in the little crevices and the hard to reach areas in the bread Did your color choices work together harmoniously? Yes I thought that the yellow plate went along with the tan and brown bread Is your sculpture interesting from all views? Yes I do think my sculpture is interesting from all views Describe the differences in constructing a sculpture and doing something 2D. There are many differences between making a sculpture and a 2D work such as you have to shape, mold, and carve into clay while you paint, draw, and sketch a 2D work How did you create textures in your sculpture? I created texture in my sculpture using different sculpting tools and carving into the bread Does your sculpture look like the actual food? How did you accomplish this? I believe my bread looks like actual garlic bread, I accomplished this by using the tools to texture the bread and I spent much time on choosing the right colors for my bread What would you do differently if you were to do this project again? If I did this project again I would be more careful painting and be far more neat
Discuss your decision on pen and ink techniques. Why you chose to use one or more. I decided to use cross hatching for my drawing because I thought it would go best with my drawing
How did you use perspective? Why is perspective important? I used perspective to give the phone a 3d effect, perspective is important because it adds depth to a piece How is texture important in your composition? Texture was important because it added detail to the piece and distinguished one part from another Why is value so important in this project? Value was important because it distinguished darker and lighter colors and added detail Describe your craftsmanship (How well the project is crafted technically) I think the piece is crafted fairly well, I made a few mistakes in a couple of area but overall it’s a nice piece If you could recreate your piece what would you do differently to enhance your final outcome? I would probably spend more time adding more texture to the piece, since I didn’t include much When applying the pen and ink techniques why and how is it important to make sure you understand the concepts taught in class? It’s important to understand these concepts because ink is permanent and if you don’t understand a technique and mess it up, you can’t erase it and try again As a growing artist how do you think what you have learned will guide and better your future projects. I think this will be a guide for me in that it will help remind me to not rush and make mistakes on my piece |
